Brandi Carlile Acoustic Trio Draws Largest Attendance at Capitol Theatre

Brandi Carlile’s Acoustic Trio concert with special guest Lucy Wainright Roche set a new attendance record at the Capitol Theatre in the Cleveland Street District in Downtown Clearwater on Friday, February 17 with 467 in total attendance. 

This is the 28th sold-out show at the Capitol Theatre since Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc., has taken over operation of the historical landmark theatre in December 2009.  To date, there have been 210 events and concerts at the Capitol.  In 2011, 104 events were held and in 2012, 56 concerts have been held or confirmed with four sell-outs. 

Upcoming concerts at the Capitol Theatre include Andy Grammer with Ryan Star this Friday night; jazz artist Jane Monheit on Saturday, February 25; spoken word artist Henry Rollins on March 10, Rock and roll Hall of Famer Roger McGuinn on March 17; two sold out shows with Glen Campbell on March 21 and 22; Grammy winners Wilson Phillips on March 23; classical pianist Navah Perlman on March 24, David Benoit and Brian Culbertson on March 25 and Meredith Vieira Productions Presents Life in a Marital Institution on April 14.

Reserved tickets are available at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office located at 1111 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, by calling 727.791.7400 or by logging onto www.atthecap.com.  The Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office is open Monday through Saturday, from noon to 6 pm.  The Capitol Theatre Ticket Office opens one hour prior to showtime.  Valet parking is now available for most performances at the historic Capitol Theatre.

The City of Clearwater and Ruth Eckerd Hall have joined forces to renovate and revitalize the intimate Capitol Theatre located on downtown Clearwater's beautiful Cleveland Street. Constructed and established in 1921, this classic structure, complete with a large mezzanine and furnishings reminiscent of a classic Hollywood theater, is one of the oldest operating theatres in the state of Florida. In 2009, the Clearwater City Council designated the Capitol Theatre a historical landmark. The is the first such designation by the city. Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Capitol Theatre are 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations.
