Mark Sforzini leads the St Petersburg Opera Ensemble, with some of the best musicians in Tampa Bay for a delightful concert using different instruments and combinations to create a tapestry of musical colors. The program will feature operatic selections and fine chamber works by American composers including, Menotti, Moore, and Sforzini, plus opera favorites by Mozart and Puccini.
The St. Pete Opera Chamber Ensemble: Sarah Shellman, violin; Fred Gratta, cello; Clay Ellerbroek, flute; Mark Sforzini, bassoon; Brent Douglas, piano; Vanessa Rodriguez, soprano; Sara Peeples, soprano; Melissa Misener, mezzo-soprano. Sforzini who directs the St. Pete Opera and the Tampa Bay Symphony is also a fine bassoonist and composer. Ms. Rodriguez recently won the Opera Idol competition. Sforzini will direct and play with these talented musicians in a program including some of his own works and arrangements and that of St. Pete resident Rand Snell.
No tickets are needed and seating is first come, first served. An offering will be taken ($5.00 minimum suggested). Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and concert begins at 3:00 a.m.
After the concert, there is a light reception in the fellowship hall for you to meet, greet and thank the musicians.
The primary areas for parking are behind the church off of Pierce Street; directly east across Ft Harrison Avenue in large County lot (reserved for Peace church events on Sundays); in lot north of the fellowship hall, and west in the City Hall parking lot.
